Review:
The mystery of the Island of Tökland, is a book written by Joan Manuel Gisbert, a writer from Barcelona.
This is about a rich man, Kazatzian, who hides the biggest secret of the universe and it’s time to reveal iti but not to everybody. The man decided to build a labyrinth under the Island of Tökland, isolated and in the middle of the ocean, with cheats and puzzles. The first to cross, besides discovering the secret of the man, will receive a great reward.
Our protagonist is Nathaniel Maris, although he doesn’t believe that he can overcome the tests, he gets it and makes equipment with the rest of main characters, also contestants and will try to arrive at the end of the labyrinth.
In this book there are plenty of subsoil and groundwater references , because the laberint is built under the island with the groundwater passing underneath. Also it refers to the sea, ocean and ocean currents. Tökland is a place without fauna and flora and it describes how a geological accident in the middle of the sea can be unknown and forgotten.
Personal opinion:
In my opinion, this book seems to be very interesting. It looks like one of those books which won’ t let you stop reading. I really feel like reading it! This work has helped me to discover a totally different novel far from the books that we normally read and that I might enjoy it.
